Men’s Club made good use of perfect weather this fall with the completion of a very successful Boat Winterization program. Over thirty residents brought their boats to the spillway for service and contributed over $1600 to the club’s treasury. We thank all of the boaters who participated and especially thank the Men’s Club members who donated time and effort over the two weekends of the event.
On October 32nd (November 1st for most folks), Men’s Club sponsored the first ever Pumpkin Roll at the dam. Lake residents and their kids brought jack-o-lanterns, pumpkins and laughter to the middle of the dam to see whose pumpkin could roll the furthest down the face of the dam and onto the field below. Excitement ran high as each participant gave his or her entry a mighty shove and watched it tumble and bounce all the way to the bottom. Winners received cash prizes for the first three places and all the pumpkins were left to feed wildlife grazing at the bottom of the dam for the next few days. Look for this fun event next year when October 32nd rolls around again.
As we approach the Holiday Season, we look forward to the Sleigh Ride on December 6th following the Women’s Club Bazaar at the Community Center. Participants are asked to bring a canned food item or two to share in the holiday food collection effort. A special lighting display is being planned so keep your eye on the lake the evening of the 6th. _________________ Roy Tally
